The 2009 Jack Nicklaus International Invitational (JNII) concluded with its international finals on October 19-22 at Jack's home course, The Bear's Club in Jupiter, Florida. The international final event is known as the Tournament of Champions, where the winners of each national JNII tournament complete to be crowned the Grand Championship. This is the fourth year for this unique team golf event sponsored by Jack Nicklaus Apparel International. National qualifying tournaments began in February 2009 in nine countries on five continents.

The tournament is a two-person team competition for the amateur golf enthusiast. Golfers enter qualifying tournaments with a partner of their choice and vie for their national championship. The JNII promotes camaraderie, interest in the game of golf and Jack Nicklaus apparel products. Entrants receive an opportunity to play top courses in tournament-like conditions and a chance to win great prizes, including a VIP trip to play for their country in the Tournament of Champions on Jack's home course. The event format gives players of all skill levels a chance at winning valuable prizes while enjoying great golf.

At the Tournament of Champions, the players are awarded their Golden Bear Champions' Blazer celebrating them as their country's national champion. They are pampered and indulged upon like golf superstars throughout their expense-paid, 6-day trip to the USA. The prize package includes: round trip air transportation; luxury ocean front accommodations; VIP hospitality; world-class golf on The Bear's Club; and, mementoes to remember this once in a lifetime experience.

The final competition is an 18-hole, two-man Scramble. The 2009 Grand Champions were the team of Pavel Korda and Tomas Polisensky from the Czech Republic with a final score of 66. They outlasted Team South Africa (Les Sweidan and Nick Tarlie) and Team USA (Andrew Arbesman and David Arbesman) who made late runs to post matching scores of 69.

National tournaments for the 2010 JNII are scheduled to begin in early 2010 in various countries around the world. National tournaments are open to any qualifying person of legal age who has never played as a professional golfer. The Tournament of Champions is scheduled for October 2010 at The Bear's Club.
